Almost 70 members attended the annual general meeting of Wolfe Tones na Sionna at the clubhouse in Shannon on Sunday 26th November.
Chairman Michael Riordan in his address thanked everyone who in any way helped our club in 2017. Mike outlined the success of the recent changes made to the facilities and outlined some of the current opportunities within the club; astro turf pitches to be upgraded , a stand to be built, a coach to work with schools and underage teams all of which were approved by the meeting. Going forward a Director of Football and Hurling was also passed by the meeting as new positions to appoint.
Club lotto is continuing to be an important source of income to support the games in the club, however the meeting was told more effort could be made from all members to increase sales week on week.
A review of the membership rates for 2018 will also take place by the incoming executive.
The executive committee for 2018 is looking for people to fill the following positions, Juvenile/ Academy games Chairperson , assistant secretary, registrar, school’s liaison officer, academy representative, indoor facilities officer and county board delegate.
