Dear Members,
We would like to share details of an upcoming Vaping Awareness Event taking place on Thursday, 5 March 2026 from 2.30pm–4.30pm in the Treacys Oakwood Hotel, Shannon.
The event is being delivered by the Child and Family Support Network, South Clare, and is aimed at parents and practitioners.
Professor Bobby Smyth, Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, will speak about the impact of vaping on young people. Teresa Walsh from the Community Substance Misuse Team (CSMT) will also address the local impact and outline available supports.
This wider initiative has included an art competition and peer-led information sessions, with secondary school students facilitating sessions in primary schools. On the day, there will also be sessions for both primary and secondary school students with Chloe and Séadna Morey.
Members who may have an interest in this topic are encouraged to attend.
