It is with great sadness that we write this, having learned of the sad passing of Brendan Regan this morning, the man who created Wolfe Tones na Sionna. Through the years as young & old members, we have learned of the deeds & sacrifices that this man has made for the presence of Wolfe Tones na Sionna as a centre & hub of GAA games in the parish of Shannon for 50 + years.
Brendan served our club loyally for 50 years and the legacy he has created will continue to serve this town indefinitely.
As a club to show our appreciation & respect, please attend if possible a Guard of Honour, which we will gather for outside Wolfe Tones na Sionna's gate after mass on Friday, where we will walk with Brendan & his family to his final resting place.
As a mark of respect, over the weekend, all Wolfe Tones teams are to observe a minutes silence before playing any game. All Wolfe Tones activities this Friday are postponed.
On behalf of Wolfe Tones na Sionna, we offer Brendan's family our sincere condolences.
Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.
