Wolfe Tones na Sionna is proud to announce that we have been selected by Croke Park to be part of the Healthy Club Project.
The Healthy Club project aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. GAA clubs already contribute to the health and well-being of their members by providing opportunities to develop their physical, social, emotional, and psychological health.
The healthy club model, which is based on best national and international practice, also aims to embed a healthy philosophy in a club while integrating health into the day-to-day club activities in a sustainable way. It also aims to place the local GAA club at the heart of the community, making it a beacon for health in the locale.
To kick-start this we are taking part in Ireland Light's Up 2020.
Do you want to get moving and active this New Year, but you have nowhere to go?
Do you find it hard to find a safe and well-lit area to go a walk during the dark winter months? Well, we have the answer!
We’re coming on board with the Operation Transformation and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every Thursday from the 9th January – 27th February 2020 our club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7pm.
We want to welcome everyone to join us for Ireland Lights Up 2020!
More events will be announced in due course - so stay tuned!
We will be tying in with students from our Future Leaders Programme, from both secondary school's St. Caimin's & St. Patrick's to promote and drive this initiative.
